THE NEW REALITY

                                               THE NEW REALITY

There are things which had been reckoned as having life everlasting but were not everlasting because they were all buried in His tomb. Sin was once forever, but now it lies forever in its grave.

The Jews had thought that the sacred law had been established forever, yet the law now lay silent in its coffin, never to hold sway on men again.

The world system also died with Christ on the cross including the entire Adam’s race. Even the prince of darkness lost his power at the cross. Above all, death also died at the cross

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. {Hebrews 2:14-15}

Now death has been destroyed alongside the devil who had the power of death. This led to our deliverance from death. Now we live forever with the God-kind of life. We are no longer slaves to fear. No longer in bondage. The law which was Satan’s power to accuse us was done away with.

13 You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Christ, for he forgave all your sins, 14 and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments which you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. 15 In this way God took away Satan’s power to accuse you of sin, and God openly displayed to the whole world Christ’s triumph at the cross where your sins were all taken away.{Colossians 2:13-15}

Now we have a new priesthood and a new law for the old law system couldn’t make us perfect. When Christ offered himself as the everlasting sacrifice, he perfected us for ever by just that one offering. Now we are a perfect people with God’s kind of holiness.

11 Under the old agreement the priests stood before the altar day after day offering sacrifices that could never take away our sins. 12 But Christ gave himself to God for our sins as one sacrifice for all time and then sat down in the place of highest honor at God’s right hand, 13 waiting for his enemies to be laid under his feet. 14 For by that one offering he made forever perfect in the sight of God all those whom he is making holy. {Hebrews 10:11-14 TLB}

11 So if the priesthood of Levi, on which the law was based, could have achieved the perfection God intended, why did God need to establish a different priesthood, with a priest in the order of Melchizedek instead of the order of Levi and Aaron?  {Hebrews 7:11 NLT}

18 Yes, the old requirement about the priesthood was set aside because it was weak and useless. 19 For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God. {Hebrews 7:18-19 NLT}

This new priesthood began immediately after Christ rose from the grave. He took his blood into the eternal holy of holies to intercede for us. He entered in just once, sprinkled his blood on the heavenly mercy seat and that brought eternal redemption for us. Now sins can be forgiven once and for all.

11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. {Hebrews 9:11-12}

The way into the Holiest of all is now wide open. Man can now access the eternal realms. Now fallen man or better put redeemed man can now gain access into the habitat of the heavenlies. Never before was it possible that ordinary man should walk through the door that separated the heavenly realm from the earthly realm. Now we can go in boldly without a sense of fear, guilt or inferiority complex.

With this new priesthood came the end of sin. Sin was defeated at the cross. His blood brought forgiveness and remission of sins. Sin has been done away with. Its power broken and made useless.

24 For Christ has entered into heaven itself to appear now before God as our Friend. It was not in the earthly place of worship that he did this, for that was merely a copy of the real temple in heaven. 25 Nor has he offered himself again and again, as the high priest down here on earth offers animal blood in the Holy of Holies each year.

26 If that had been necessary, then he would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But no! He came once for all, at the end of the age, to put away the power of sin forever by dying for us.
27 And just as it is destined that men die only once, and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ died only once as an offering for the sins of many people; and he will come again, but not to deal again with our sins.{Hebrews 9:24-27 TLB}

Now God doesn’t remember sins anymore. A new covenant was enacted in which sins are not remembered. They are eternally forgiven. No daily sacrifice is required to get rid of sins anymore

.
We can walk right into God’s realm because of the blood of Jesus. There is a new way opened for us to come through, boldly into God’s holy presence. The only thing required of us is to fully trust our high priest with full assurance of faith that we have been sanctified and made Holy by His blood. Eternal salvation is now ours and we can tell the world about it without doubt.

15 And the Holy Spirit testifies that this is so, for he has said, 16 “This is the agreement I will make with the people of Israel, though they broke their first agreement: I will write my laws into their minds so that they will always know my will, and I will put my laws in their hearts so that they will want to obey them.” 17 And then he adds, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.”

18 Now, when sins have once been forever forgiven and forgotten, there is no need to offer more sacrifices to get rid of them.
19 And so, dear brothers, now we may walk right into the very Holy of Holies, where God is, because of the blood of Jesus. 20 This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain—his human body—to let us into the holy presence of God.

21 And since this great High Priest of ours rules over God’s household,22 let us go right in to God himself, with true hearts fully trusting him to receive us because we have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean and because our bodies have been washed with pure water.
23 Now we can look forward to the salvation God has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that he will do what he says.{Hebrews 10:15-23 TLB}

Perhaps the most intriguing of all that happened at the resurrection of Christ is the emergence of a new family line, a new bloodline. We became God’s children bearing divine DNA. No longer are we slaves but sons-heirs of God, joint heirs with Christ. His name changed from the “only begotten” to the “first begotten” signifying that God gave birth to other children. Listen to what Christ himself said to Mary after his resurrection:

17 “Don’t touch me,” he cautioned, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them that I ascend to my Father and your Father, my God and your God.”{John 20:17}

I could imagine Mary asking in surprise, your brothers? I thought they were your disciples. Even though you once called them friends but I have never heard you call them brothers before. Wait a minute, Jesus did you just say “my Father and your Father? I knew Him as God but never as Father.

This is what Jesus would possibly reply: “Mary, there is a new race on earth, a new creation. The old Adam’s race is over .Mary you are now my sister. We both have the same father. Our bloodline is now the same. You carry the divine gene in you now”
This is the greatest privilege for the believer, in my opinion; to be called the sons of God. Mary couldn’t understand it. John in his greatest joy exclaimed:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.{1John 3:1-2}

Now we are God’s children. An exact specie as Christ. Same image. He has become our elder brother. We all have one Father.

11 So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.{Hebrews 2:11 NLT}

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. {Romans 8:29}

If we knew what the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus really meant, we would all consciously walk in its reality and enjoy its benefit.
